8.ta showing as MTN

So I bought an 8.ta SIM card today for 99 cents, and I RICAed , now on my phone when I insert the SIM card it shows 8.ta (for a few seconds) then it shows MTN. I just want to know if this is normal, I don’t want to buy airtime for something that isn’t working.
My phone is a Nokia 5230
If this is a noob question please don’t hurt me, I haven’t been following the 8.ta scene.

It's normal.

8ta have a roaming agreement with MTN until such time as they have built their own network.

Actually left the 8.ta scene for some time now, thou its sad that 8.ta is still roaming of MTN and there hasn't been much questions or press about this or if 8.ta is growing their network?

afaik they had 1500 sites on air by New Year.
