Have you tested to make sure it helps? My iburst works better without the omni...

    Thanks r00igev@@r

Hope it works, I have long USB cable connected to the modem at the moment, if I put the modem high up against the wall my signal goes to 100%, if not its between 60 - 90% depending on the way the wind blows. So I'm going to give it a shot.

Hahaha, I've had mine in a plastic bag on the roof at one stage, got scared it was gonna get damaged, so I took it off.

The signal strength stayed on 100% and the torrent I was busy with went from 1 - 20kbps

If my internet is working when I get home, I will post a pic for you.

As much fun as that may well be (and now, for no ..GOOD.. reason, I want to open my UTD up too!), it's dead easy to get an IP66 polycarb enclosure that hold the modem, a PoE kit and glands to sommer stick the thing out in the weather, no worries.

That will be as impressive as the cigarette lighter mod.

This was a prototype for my mate Shamilin...

I got a proper Omni from Poynting mounted on the roof. It was a bit expensive - R800 with 15m cable but it works. My reception is from 30% without antenna to constant 100%. iBurst still slow during the day though.
