When I use my Nokia charger on my S2, the S2 gets very hot. Anyone else experience this?

Check the volts and amp output is the same, I used a lower amp charger and it works fine. All balckberry chargers work fine.
I used to charge my S2 with a bb bold / curve charge..

With Siyah kernel, you can set the charging of the battery. Mine is set to All: 650 mA
The kernel prevents charging at more than 650mA. So any means of charging will be limited to that.
If memory serves me correct, Dorimanx set it to 700mA. This was questioned by guys on the Siyah thread on XDA and GM said that the S2 can not be charged at more than 650mA

I used my Nokia charger throughout all my flashes until I used Fluxi Kernel which started heating up on charge, a switch to Siyah sorted it out.

I have only ever had this with a certain MIUI ROM. I use a variety of different chargers and cables, and it only got hot with that specific ROM. Have you flashed your S2 recently?

650 for all is risky. USB should be set to 450.

I did not have NULL relations with that variable.

Yeah, but I only use USB charging on office ps/laptops, so I don't care if the USB ports fries ...
Some ports (newer) can handle it fine though
But I actually agree with you - It is better to keep USB to 450mA

USB,misc:450 - AC 650 is what I currently have it set to. I took a look at it and thought, "Nah, not gonna change it.". Then I came back and saw the thread updates.

I have seen many posts warning against 4.0.4 LQ5 firmware update, but no one recommends anything else.

Well, JellyBean will be out soon, so not sure if it's worth all the trouble to go from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4?

If you want to see what JellyBean is like, you can download Nova Launcher and you're pretty much there.

Nova Launcher even has the whole JellyBean icon set.
