Hmm what do you plan to do with it?
    Take notes in the classes?
If you are going to take any subjects like maths etc. you will struggle to take notes since they use mathematical notation.

You might want to consider saving for a tablet pc then.

    Hi Dannyboy22

The same laptop is available at the Centurion Makro for R 4989-00 (manager's special). Might be worthwhile to give them a call.

    Regards,

This sounds like one that one of my consultants bought ... had, and is still having endless problems with it. Rather look at some of the Acer specials currently running ... can't remember which retailers, just saw the add on TV.

EDIT: I am going to use the swearword now: Incredible Connection ... they are selling the Acers at roundabout the same price you're quoting here

Might be a bit difficult to get at it as he is in CT. Will Makro assist in this regard?

Yes, but if you haven'y noticed at incredible connections, if you buy a PC or a laptop, you have to take out an MWEB contract or pay an extra R1000 inorder not to have it, and i already have internet.

i would also rather go for an acer. send a dealer the price/specs above and ask them to match. i am sure you can get a same speced acer for the same price.

Trust me, if you are planning on taking notes during lectures, DON'T!

We use laptops at school, and during classes. We have the choice of taking notes on them, but we just end up using them for writing essays, and research on the net.

The pen is mightier than the laptop when it comes to taking notes.
But of course if you are doing something like journalism or something similiar then thats a different story.

P.S. Get a Dell. Half our school use them, and they give minimal problems. Nothing you can't fix yourself.

I bet you, you go to bishops in Cape Town. Well I use a laptop for school and its the best for talking notes, I happen to be able to type faster than I write.

I would advise against getting a FUJITSU SIEMENS

Like I said, typing essays, and talking notes in some cases the laptop rules, but you try typing out scientific notation and chemistry etc. on a laptop. (takes ages, literally)

And yes I do go to Bishops.

OMW!!!! A Bosch boy lol, 'friendly rivalry' well we did get you guys really pissed off at the rugby (me thinks of celebrating on bosch's field while they stared at us )

BTW, for those who don't know there is some 'tension' between our schools

But on topic - I wouldn't recomend the Dell - I have had nothing bu problems with it ...

But that is because you fight with the technicians though kilps...who knows what they can do...

P.S. There isn't just 'some tension' between Bishops and Rondebosch, there is HUGE TENSION!!!
