I have no doubt that Eskom will be subjecting me to many involuntary Earth Hours this winter. So tonight... in all likelihood the 42" LCD will be providing a comforting glow to accompany the stove's radiant meal-producing heat.
Symbolic gestures don't do jack-****. Either start doing something genuinely constructive or don't bother. I'll continue to use low-power bulbs whenever possible, and keep them burning unless the incompetents at Eskom prohibit me from doing so.

Eskom is and wll subject me to many "Earth Hours." I'm not going to do one voluntary one now.

Already had hour or 2 of downtime in electricity this month so dont see the point of doing the earth hour
If it would stop downtime permanently then I would do it
won't be doing it at all. mother will do it for me when "she" is ready i.e. eskom will voluntarily switch me off every now and again when they feel it's necessary to do so and that is more often than i feel i am comfortable with.
Anybody noticed on youtube there's a switch you can click which changes the white background to black. Thought that was cool

have done it in the past, but have recently become disenchanted with the whole CO2 link to global warming/climate change debate, so think I'll give it a miss this year
