This is a very important question IMO. I want the revamped one otherwise it definately will be the iPad for me.

Nope, we are still on 2.1-update1
The 2.2 update is out in other parts of the world, but is not available in SA.

The only way to get the updates is to void your warranty.

In what world? Simply connect the phone to your PC, run KIES and update to 2.2.1
