After a stable/reliable connection the next most important service is the smtp server. IMO

Please call 155 & or customecare@vodacom.co.za & report otherwise they seem to have it as a low priority. The more lights that flash the better.

I concur, smtp.vodacom.co.za appears to be constipated again. Someone didn't have their all-bran this morning.

There has been a movement!
I received a reply to a mail sent this morning at 08:21 and received a non-delivery report for a mail sent at 11:59.
Test message sent to myself at 14:53 arrived at 18:54.

I was waiting for the GMAIL fan's to comment. It's OK for us few on the Forum to use GMAIL but what about the other thousands of user that dont know about GMAIL?

Those of us that use GMail, tend to convince all our friends and colleagues and family to also use GMail, so we are doing what we can to spread the word that is GMail...

VC should pass a credit if you do not use there mailserver service?
Would be less load on there mail server's.

If i change the smtp to a non vodacom secured smtp it works fine.

What would cause this?

Attention - To the Vodacom3g people looking at this information

I am not a PC / mobile connection fundi, but got a VC 3G card about 2 months ago. Works fine for browsing the net and receiving e-mails.
But for about the past month now I cannot send any e-mail. Our IT re-checked all their settings and tried to assist, but are now lending me a MTN 3G USB modem to see if that helps.

I normally only try and use the 3G card when required. Normally have 3G coverage when roaming at home. Also use Outlook 2003 while on VPN.

I've looked at all the work-arounds on Microsoft, but none of that helped. Most of the people at our work use MTN network and have no problems with Outlook via VPN set-up.

If you require additional info about my settings, please let me know.
