Thread: **Search For Company Registration**

  1. #1

    Question **Search For Company Registration**

Where can one search for a company's registration number or check if a company is registered. CIPRO's old website (http://www.cipro.co.za) has now become CIPC (http://www.cipc.co.za)?!?

I can't seem to find a search function like used to exist on the old website.

Also, since their office hours are 08h00-15h30 it is too late to phone.

This new site's pages seem to load faster than the old CIPRO one.

Have had a look around, myself.
If there is a search function it's not evident like it used to be on the left of the home page screen.

Should you find out tomorrow that there's some meaningful answer as to why there's no search function, pls. post the answer.
Probably haven't loaded all the existing Co's yet in order to search, after which time it should slow down again.

Maybe try TransUnion as well? Not sure, but if anybody has any details then they probably do. I know Kredit Inform specialises a bit more in the commercial side vs. the consumer side but if TU doesn't have any info, pretty sure KI will. Might cost a bit though

New site appears to be broken. There is a search (see thread), but nobody has gotten anything but errors from it afaik.

http://www.cipro.gov.za/transact/pro...ces/search.asp is the new link and it's working, I've tried it about 10 minutes ago.

Thanks Zilar, it does indeed work now.

Just note that the website takes forever to load & once an enterprise is displayed after a search, clicking on the link displays an IIS 403 error.

This is a VERY GOOD example why client side reporting should be disabled, or limited to a few trusted IP's only:

    Configuration Error

For those who don't know, their database username & password is shows in clear text.

And, frankly, their web developer should be fired on the spot as well, IMO

Found the link to the search page on the new site.
    Load http://www.cipc.co.za/ THEN
Click Additional Services link, on the left.
