    I also got one of the first batches and whilst the signal is really very weak the data has now gone bust too. I cannot connect to wifi or to data networks. It takes ages to change from airplane mode and get data through. It is basically unusable. I cannot even use 150MB of data per month such is the data issues. I dont know if it is from cell c or the device but I cannot continue having a work phone that cannot connect to the net to retrieve emails.

    Ah this is a good thread. My wife also got one of these phones on the opening day. The thing has driven her to near insanity with the connectivity issues and dropped calls:sad: We battle to get hold of each other all the time and she has to restart her phone a few times every day to get thing to work for a while. It also has this weird issue where the battery gets incredibly hot for no apparent reason. Will contact Cell C and see if he can assist. It's hasn't been a very pleasant experience thus far I must say :/

    I have to restart too if I want to get mobile data, then it works for a couple of minutes and then nothing again. It shows signal but nothing goes through. I hope Cell_c can assist.

    I see some people got exchange units, this must mean that cell_c knows the issues are not fixable. Lets hope for the best or at least a firmware update that has been lacking. 10 months with not 1 update - yikes.

    Hi

    I have had my RBM HD for almost a year now and i can not carry on like this anymore. My hate for this phone has reached levels i never knew were possible.

    I have never ever been able to stay on the Cell C 3G network an entire day without being dropped. By that i mean while i sit here typing this my phone has gone from full coverage (on Cell C 3G) to absolutly no coverage (only Telkom and Vodacom available) back to coverage only on the Cell C 2G network.
    Can not send sms, can not phone (Emergency calls only) etc...

    This phone gets more and more useless as the days go by. Like the rest of you i need a phone to survive and function and i am at the end of my tether.

    Over and above that it has taken me just under a year to correct my billing problem with Red Bull and as of today i still do not receive my monthly magazine as promised when i signed up.

    But all these problems fall by the wayside when compared to the poor performance of the phone. I have the same system and kernal as the ones mentioned in this forum for the new RBM HD so not sure where to even start.

    Obviously i can not visit my local branch because that only makes things worse and phoning the help line is (as per an old song) "trying to solve an algebra problem by chewing gum", just no help at all.

    So please someone guide me as to what to do. Im getting close to giving this thing away just so i can go and buy a plain old Nokia that allows me to always make calls and stay in touch.

    Ja. Nokia 16xx R139 or so. Many people are not happy from usability of their super duper smartphones.

    I will try assist where possible.
    If i might ask if you use sim in another phone how is the 3G signal.
    I know there are some issue with RBM, i just want to try find out if phone or sim.
    This way can find best way forward.

    Ill try the sim card in a friends IPhone and see what happens. I dont know how to recreate the network disappearing during the day and the phone going into Emergency call only mode but ill try.

    Ill post the results when i have them.

    Default Local Cell C stores and fanpage declines....

    I have had my phone for over a year now and have all the same issues mentioned in this thread. I have been to the shop where I purchased and left countless messages on cell c facebook page but no one ever got back to me.

    At the store they told me that I had to send my phone away and would wait 2-3 weeks. I'm based in Cape Town. They also said they could only give me a loaner phone but had no functionality for me to run my business from i.e email etc. My biggest issue from the beginning is dropping calls and it just freezing all the time and 2 hour battery life.

    I gave up eventually and then stumbled across this thread and noticed that some people were having success.

    I'm fedup and can't actually operate my business from the phone anymore. It's losing me money daily.
