Telkom Simple ADSL package: ASA complaint

Telkom Simple promises free calls. Are these claims misleading?

8 minutes into a 10 minute infomercial, that is quite long. Do people watch infomercials for that long?

Who in their right mind would sit through a 10-minute informercial from Telkom?

I find this more misleading then the Vodacom advert or is it just me?

I think only people in hospital would watch it.

Telkom has money to blow I see...

Why would someone complain without having seen the whole ad?

What about the "FAST Internet" bit? Especially since it's their slowest offering available.
As one becomes more specialised one tends to be less generally understood and more commonly misunderstood.

It looks like ASA screwed up again...

Here's what the product info on the website says:

    "FREE CALLS

Free calls to Telkom numbers, local and long-distance, up to an hour per call. Applicable 7pm to 7am Monday to Friday and all weekend."

THAT'S NOT ALL LANDLINES!!! CALLS TO NEOTEL LANDLINES (CURRENTLY ABOUT 5% OF ALL LANDLINES) FROM TELKOM ARE NEVER FREE.

Who wants to submit this to the ASA again?

yaa, I was also supposed to get 'free' calls on my ADSL line... of course there are terms and conditions that I only found out too late.... only myself to blame :-)
