Thread: News24 Social Bar Advertisement

  1. #1

    Default News24 Social Bar Advertisement

    For the people that access news24. Is this new advertisement at the bottom of the page irritating you as well?
    Is there a way to permanently disable it instead of minimising it daily?

    Add the following rule to your adblock plus
    Code:
    ||scripts.24.co.za/libs/24com/socialbar/1.0/Scripts/*
    or
    Code:
    ||scripts.24.co.za/libs/24com/socialbar/*
    may be better

    Thanks, all sorted.
    Still think I should boycott them for stuffing these things down our throat.

    Hehe I thought this was about the forum member news24. Because if it was, the only social ads would be ones for dating your own family members.
    So y'all need to hide yo uzis, hide yo assault rifles and hide yo bazookas 'cos they disarmin' everybody out here!

    Poke around the source using Firebug/Chrome Developer Tools to find the offending scripts/images. ABP usually gives you some pretty decent rule options to choose from when you block a URL so just pick one of those.

    Edit:
    Is there a method to figuring out these rules? So next time I don't have to bug the forum?
