It is a minimum of 50 posts *and* a minimum of 90 days elapsed since the username's date of registration.

I did say whichever takes longer. 3 posts should be quick & painless

It's all about protecting the forum from spammsters... and there have been enough of those miscreants anyway.

I think the rule is actually quite lenient
