Will it work with the NeoConnect Prime device? I looked ta the list of supported devices here but I have no idea what make the NeoConnect device is.

I have a weird problem….
I’m using the TP-Link MR3420 router and have a Vodacom ZTE K4505-Z and a Cell C Huawei E1820 modem.
I’ve got the latest firmware (3.12.19 Build 110617 Rel.39329n) on the MR3420.
I’ve set the Dial Number and APN manually to *99# and ‘internet’ on the MR3420.

The Cell C sim works with both of the modems when connected to the MR3420, but the Vodacom sim only works when placed in the Huawei E1820 modem.

When I have the Vodacom sim in the ZTE K4505-Z modem, the router picks up the modem and seems to connect to the internet (Signal Strength 38%), but the connection seems to only be “local” and seems to frequently (once every 2-3 minutes) lose the connection to the internet and then attempts reconnecting again.
When I use the K4505-Z directly plugged into my laptop, it works with either of the sim cards.

So, to summate, the Vodacom sim doesn’t work in my K4505-Z when connected to the RM3420.

Any ideas of what the problem could be?

thanks nuyork, yes I have and I have upgraded K4504Z firmware, but still having hassles with it - E1820 also giving hassles with Vodacom sim when connected through MR3420 - most problems seem to be Vodacom sim related in my case - have emailed log files to TP-Link and they are looking into it.... will post again once solved

The Neoconnect device is a Huawei device. The booklet identifies it

I was referring to the NeoConnect Prime (phone) device which is a Dupont BC2703. The Dovado 4GR (R1499), Netgear MBR624GU (R727) and Netgear MBRN3000(R949) seem to be the only ones that support it. The Dovado is guaranteed to work; not 100% sure about the others.

I have just noticed that the latest (110617) firmware for the MR3420 on the TPLINK website has been removed and the previous version (110418) is now the latest - Huh?

Anybody know why the 110617 version was withdrawn? My router has the 110617 version on it and has actually not been working as well with this version - Can I downgrade the firmware to the 110418 version?

EDIT Update: Downgraded and E1820 and K4505Z are much more stable now

I found over the last few weeks that my router is extremely unstable. I would get disconnected from the internet while accessing the network via wifi (with an almost full signal). I also found it unstable when I stream videos to my Xbox and acryan essential via wifi. I am using a ZTE mr668.

I also found that I can not always log onto my router via the wired or wifi network, pulling the power seems to be the only option in this case.

I am running the latest version firmware currently available on the site (not the one recently removed).

Are these disconnects common? Anyone else having these issues? Should I consider flashing the router with open WRT? Has anyone done this successfully and got the cell c modem to work?

@Kernel / Uniterm: Can we expect a updated firmware version in the near future? I know you guys are only distributors but you seem to have a very good relationship with tp-link.

Hey guys, been searching all over the place and have come up with nothing - but does anybody know whether any of these modems will work with the Neotel Neoconnect 3G dongle:
http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/5853..._Vodafone_ADSL_OPTIONAL_3G_Router_2_in_1.html - Huawei HG553

and

http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/5853...556_HG556a_ADSL_3G_TESTED_WORKING_ROUTER.html - HG556A

I believe the Neotel dongle is a Huawei EC168 - not sure but thats what I've read on here. Anybody who might know whether this combo will work, please let me know as those modems are pretty damn cheap on BOB and I really need one!
