I feel like crying. I have to plead with Vodacom accounts now to split my February bill over two or more months. Will they do that?
I cannot believe they have absolutely no controls in place to protect their customers from out of bundle nightmares... SWAK.

Why would they want to have these controls? Its to their benefit if you use more data

Normally they will accomodate a promise to pay if you ask for installments...but if you do not honour the promise to pay on your line you are in for a world of pain. They have no sense of humour if people do not stick to it.

Its called RAPE, I dont care if you even used that data. Those prices shouldnt be forked out for data, not even a 1000 gigs of data! These companies are just GROSS, they should be prosecuted at the Hague. When will the people stand up for themselves?????? FIrst off, never ever get a contract, you are playing into their hands. All the telecommunications hsould be boycotted, there should be a total shutdown of ALL voice and data in this country for 24 hours. We need to ge their attention.

Really, the whole country needs to turn off their phones and internet for 24 hours.

What I do is this :

I get a new phone on contract.

Then I put that SIM in an old phone, one which cannot do internet etc. And only switch it on when I want to SMS/check on SMS'es received.

In the new phone goes a prepaid SIM.

If the new phone do decide to nomnomnom some data, then it's still OK as I won't get a new one.

The advantage to this is, should some ne'er-do-well get hold of your number, and start to send some spam, and you get no joy from your SP, you can just ditch said SIM and get a new one.

Is the 10 Commandments for Christians?

Saturday is the Seventh day, Sunday is the first day.

I still think you should have the option to be hard capped when OOB.

8ta always pause when you reach the end of your bundle - for which I am very grateful!

Not the same. It will eat OOB topup money whatever this limit is.

Why don't you implement a landing page once the data runs out in the same way that 8ta does? Is the techies at vodacom not smart enough to implement this?

But the call limit lock is not definite. There is no guarantee that it is going to work 100%.

Vodacom does have a landing page telling you to recharge once your airtime or bundle is depleted.

Rather read airtime and bundle. It means that as long as there is airtime (or other way to suck money - i.e. postpaid), it will use it insted of directing to the landing page.

It also means that accounting allows it, however it serves different purpose.
