I am really at a lost to do with this moving forward.
Do i get my xbox firmware updated to the latest lt version OR
Do i get an X360key? OR
Do i get someone to do the reset glitch hack?

What would be there best for minimizing future update costs?

Can't comment on the x360Key but for the others:

RGH - allows you to run homebrew code and your own dash and ultimately lets you play games off the internal/external HDD. If you go onto XBL you will be banned. The RGH is supposed to be foolproof and since it requires a hardware redesign to fix, its going to be around for a while. At the moment it requires a lot of hacking around and soldering to get it going.


iXtreme - allows you to play backups from DL DVD's - mostly XBL safe although there is always a chance you could be banned. Depending which version of the XB you have - some slims can't be modded. This is a lot easier to implement than the RGH but you need to keep the iXtreme versions up to date - which means opening up the XB every now and again and updating the DVD drive.

I can get my drive flashed for R250 to the latest firmware. Else if someone would show me how to do it....

I wouldn't attempt the RGH if you are not skilled in soldering. Far too much can go wrong - and it normally does.

I would just pay for someone to do the iXtreme. What Xbox version do you have? Slim or phat?

Is it safe to go online with iXtreme? After having run the game through abgx?

Also if a console would get banned does that mean you cant go on xbox live again or does it mean u cant use your console again...

Its fairly safe but not 100%. You could still get banned at any time but the chances are slim. Of you are banned you just can't sign into XBL - you can still use your console offline.

Cextreme said the device would be delivered in 2 weeks max. I waited 8 weeks!!
Cextreme has very bad customer service, they ignored requests when I enquired about when the device would arrive.

Otherwise I can defnitely recommend the Xk3y. No more burning DL DVD's

@ mk1.. We apologize for the Inconvenience cause during this period.

The delays regarding the Xk3y's were primarily due to an unexpected delay in supply. Our previous ETA was extended from two weeks to almost two months by our supplier. We initially relied on simply putting updates on the Xk3y Page but when we couldn't get an accurate enough ETA we didn't post any updates until we became absolutely sure that we were about receiving stock.

We since added a Tracking System to keep clients informed and prevent a repeat of the communication gap experienced during that dark period.

Well I am still await response about my x360key that i returned to cextreme as it is faulty. Still shocking customer service. I have to email a few times and post on their facebook to get a reply. The last time I heard from them they said it had been sent back to Thailand for inspection.... that was 24 Jan....... not impressed.

I install x360Key Xbox's or sell it standalone. Normal ETA is 5-8 working days as it is couriered to SA not airmailed!
