Thread: R50 school fees

    Thumbs down R50 school fees

OK, I give up. Just wanted to share my story. I got a new starter pack on Tuesday, for an old phone that my son could use, it was registered on Thursday. I requested a number, and was assigned one. I called from this number (quicker to save the number) to my regular phone. When I, just for kicks, sent an sms to this same new Virgin number, someone else replied "Who are you?". I phoned the number (my own new Virgin number) with another phone, and got someone else, who says he's had the number for five years.
While on hold to sort this out with the Virgin "help" line (he he he he, he he) I was cut off, and "Sim card not registered" appears on my phone. So, at regular rates, and holding on for what seems like a lifetime, because my Virgin phone doesn't work any more. I get the reply "Well this is a phone problem or a sim problem, have you tried it in another phone?" from "customer retention" (ha ha ha, he he, ha ha).

So, I give up. This is R50 in school fees, I'll take it like a man, BUT Weirgin Mobile and Tyre Centre will not be the next sim I buy.
Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.

If you told me that on Monday, I would have called you a liar. Now I'm a believer.

So what would be the best thing to do with the sim card? I'll obviously cut it up before I throw it away. Is there anything else I should be aware of? I can't think of any. Thank God I didn't sign a contract or anything. These clowns having my banking details gives me cold shivers.

Probaly the person with the same number as you was on virgin, then ported the number to another network, and virgin did not take the number out of their pool and you ended up with it (trsut me you not the first person that this has happend to).
Virgin needs to alocate you a new number and they must foot the cost it may be a littel 50 bucks, but at the end its your 50 bucks why give it to them!
also if i were you i would claim back the money for the call you made, i would go to a virgin store and ask them to call customer service for you, or post on hello peter and hopefuly they wil call you back.
Some times the internet is so slow, it would be faster to just fly to Google's headquarters and ask them this $h1t in person.!
