Thread: WA - what is going on?

  1. #1

Question WA - what is going on?

Not sure about others with WA, but there seem to be more issues recently.

Yesterday issues with news servers; today connectivity issues. The poor engineers at WA sure have their hands full.

I have spoken to support and each time there seems to be something else wrong. I do understand 100% is impossible with any ISP, but WA seems to be having way too many issues of late and I have found my connectivity has not been as good as in the past

I am now using my Afrihost account and hopefully sooner rather than later things will be back to 100% with WA

I can't agree with you more.

My Afrihost and FNB account flies when this crawls or does not work at all. Sad that I have to keep 2 other accounts besides WA to ensure I can at least use the internet. Over to FNB.

Anyone have a suggestions on where I can spend R320pm on a reliable ISP?

Yes, something wrong with international browsing on WA network. Started after 3pm. I can't load GMail, Facebook, Twitter.
    Local is fine.

Not just today, I've had problems with some of the file hoster sites the last few nights as well.

I find that my WA usually works when there are som international connection crisis on other providers, only reason don't use them more is cos they cost an arm and a leg on the good unshaped gigs.

This seems to be a recurrent problem. I've actually reached a point where I'm searching for a more reliable service provider. This simply isn't acceptable any more.

    Morning guys,

We where aware of issues yesterday, I just need to follow up with what the exact issue was.
Once I have some feedback I'll post it up here.

As frustrating as outages are, we do our utmost to ensure that they don't happen. We are still an extremely reliable ISP and can confirm that the international issues experienced yesterday have been sorted out.

Thanks Jeff for your comments and we look forward to further feedback.

Whilst I do agree that in the past your have been reliable, I really do feel (and it would appear by no means am I the only one) that this statement is not true at present as there have just been too many little issues that all add up to growing frustrations. Whilst international yesterday was the most current, what would be appreciated is broader feedback on why there have been so many various issues of late and when are WA going to be back to being a reliable ISP again.

Same this morning - works fine then drops for a couple minutes - maybe you have a script
    10 work for an hour
20 lose connectctivity for 120 seconds
    30 restore connectivity
    40 goto 10

I couldn't agree more. WA was always reliable. It's just the issues of the last couple of months that is seriously tarnishing an otherwise exemplary reputation.

I agree, WA has been my main reliable account but over the past month and a half or so I have been having sporadic issues with connectivity and latency which always seems to happen at the worst times.
I would really like to know what has changed and why there have been so many issues lately.
