Hey guys,

I recently bough a TP-Link MR3220 router to set up my wireless network at home.

Little bugger works like a charm but I'm having some ps3 connectivity issues.

Sure, everything connects to PSN fine. I am able to download updates etc but cannot enter lobbies for online games. As soon as I try it gives me an error "Online connection failed" or the like. I've tried a number of titles now so I'm sure it's the connection. I switched from iBurst to 8ta and then the new router. Never had this issue with iBurst.

I'm not that clued up on router settings so I'm thinking it's a setting somewhere i've missed?

Anyone got suggestions?

Thanks!!!

Go to <<Network Test>> on PS3 and check your NAT type. You need a NAT type 2 for games to work properly.

If your NAT is 3, you will not be able to access lobbies. Also, check if UPnP is enabled, this will also show when you run a Network Test on your PS3.

NAT is 2. UPnP is enabled but when checking/testing indicates "Not Available"

Okay, it seems like you might have to enable DMZ on your router. The problem is you are connecting a dongle via a router, and most of the time the issue lies here. Your dongle might be blocking traffic even though your router is allowing it to be transferred.

Thanks for the info Rose. I tried the DMZ route but still got same issue.

UPnP is enabled though on router and ps3 as a sidenote.

Anything I can do about the dongle issue maybe?

Glad to help. Uhm, which internet were you using before? is this your first time on 3G? and have you ever had this issue before? If you answer the way I expect, then I guess there is a fix. Waiting for your reply. :)

Had iburst before. On 8ta now so I guess I'm new to 3G. No issues before
