I was watching the 2007 final again tonight and Bakkies was a monster in that game with some truly scary cleanouts at the rucks. We're really going to miss him. I really hope they're just being extra cautious with him and that he will be available in the knockout stages (Although having him around to keep the Pacific Islanders honest in the pool stages would have been nice.)
Nope... looks like the Achilles tendon injury is far worse than first thought... latest rumour is that he will miss the whole RWC.

As much as everyone loves to hate him he is a great lock and if he had played in the earlier years of rugby he would have been a scary opponent as we all know the game was a bit more "dirty" back then.
I feel that although he has done some super stupid things, he has also been punished unfairly a number of times.
We will miss him once he hangs up his Bok boots.

Bakkies makes me lol... He equates himself to farm machinery that needs to warm up before shifting into action.
