Thread: Individual performances at RWC 2011

Default Individual performances at RWC 2011

    Hey guys

So which individual players are you looking forward to see how they perform?

Personally, I can't wait to see how Israel Dagg and Zac Guildford get on with it! I reckon they're two of the most exciting players at the moment.

From the Boks I'd like to see Willem Alberts put it some quality play, as I think he's someome who often gets looked over when credit's due.

    Brussow

    Bismark

    Lambie

    F Steyn

Couldn't care less about the non SA players

Want to see if Fourie Du Preez can regain his great form.
Want to see if Spies can finally live up to at least 50% of the hype that was created when he started playing rugby.
Need to see Brussouw stuff up every other world flanker like he did 2 years ago.
Also want to see if Bismarck can keep cool enough when he is selected and if he will build on his awesome form.
Want to see if J. Fourie can keep the back line in check for the boks under pressure.

Dagg, Genia, Pocock, Carter, SBW, Cooper. Want to also see Shane Williams have a go as he can be awesome if put into the right space.

Imo there are to many to watch

    Now that you mention it:

I want to see if our Center pair can eventually run straight instead of trying to be wingers...

I'm not so sure. It seems he won't even be starting most games. His offloads are great, but I'm not convinced he does the usual stuff a center should do well enough, as well as missing quite a lot of tackles.

Anyway, Francois Steyn will have to prove that he deserves to be in the squad as far as I'm concerned. His performances lately have been shoddy at best. I think if Bismarck plays well in the early games it'll become harder and harder for Div to justify not starting him, or letting him just play the whole game.

    Ok so:
    J. Fourie did ok keeping our scramble defence going.
    F. du Preez has not regained more than 50% of his previous form.
    Brussouw was a monster again.
Spies had a tight game but did not get to play battering ram too much
Bismarck was awesome to behold. He had two turnovers in the little bit that he was on!

Could you please elaborate on this statement? Or is this another Stevie G one-liner-troll-call?

I do not know of Dagg having an injury but Ioane is injured and the article says he is looking to return for the 1/4 finals.

Reminds me of when Jean de Villiers ended up on wing. He couldn't help himself but creep back into centre position, was kinda funny watching that

    Hmmmm, your peekchuh all fuzzy.

I think F Steyn can be brilliant, but he has gotten fat & lazy. Lets see if he can "bloom" during the RWC.
