If anyone gets one soon, please let me know if you manage to change between internal and external antenna modes in the web management.

Every time I try set it to "External" antenna mode, the modem reset but goes automatically to internal mode! Very frustrating cos my signal is weak without the external antenna! I've tried to look for newer firmware but could not find any where!

Not good.... But only because I'm struggling to connect my externall antenna to it. It doesn't want to set in the web management!!!!!!! Very frustrating - wish it was a simple switch like the B970b has. Prob needs a firmware update which I can't find anywhere on the web.

Make sure the external antenna is connected before you change it in the router config.

Can anyone tell me which carrier ie MTN , Vodacom , CellC , 8TA , Virgin has this device and price wise what does it cost ?

www.huaweidevice.com does not have too much info on it besides a PDF -> http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwid...oftid=NDAxOTE=
Hi Folks, I'm new (as you can tell)

Last Saturday I purchased a B970b from an MTN store at Cedar Square shopping centre in Fourways. I paid R1,599.00 then learnt about this BB and damn.... I discover it's way passed end of life......

Anyhow thanks to you folks I've successfully enabled DDNS and it seems to be working fine...

Kingrob I tried that. There's definitely something wrong with this firmware.

Does anyone else have the same problem as I do?

Make sure the device is disconnected before you switch between the antenna modes i.e. set the connection profile to manual, and disconnect - then change antenna to inner or outer.

Default b683 not connecting to net

    hi all

i just purchased a b683 and was endless issues with net connectivity. as per manual, i needed to press the centre connect button until light shows constant green yet the light flashes and goes back to steady yellow or orange. i have tried it on voda and cellc with same issue. i was also told by another guy that i needed to go to http://192.168.1.1 and set up a APN named "internet" with dial out *99#. i tried this but IE shows "page cannot be displayed", i assuming it needs a connection to the net. so i finally have returned it to the supplier and requested a new one as i believe the first to be defective. can anyone here offer me a solution to this nightmare as i will be recieving my new device toms.
