One of the things that South Africa does very well is make fine brandy's

Nothing like a good brandy and coffee after a great meal

I cannot afford, but would die for list

    KVW 20 year old

In my bar or recently finished

Uitkyk Grand Reserve 10 year old < current favourite
    Klipdrift Gold
    Nederburg Solera Potstilled
    Collison's White Gold

    Stuff to drink with coke

    Viceroy
    Klipdrift Premium
    KVW 10 year old

    So what are your favourites?

    How do you drink it?

I can't imagine drinking brandy without chocolate milk or coke.

Neat or sometimes with ice. Bit of a sin to water down the good stuff though hehe.

I recently tasted the KWV 15 year old and was not really impressed. Their Imoya on the other hand is really good. I'm also really enjoying the Laborie Albamic. I recently picked up a Oude Meester gift set from a fellow forumite which I am slowly working through. I was also fortunate to get a bottle of Van Ryn 20 year old from a friend for my birthday. My dad and I enjoyed polishing that one

Another favs: Joseph Barry and another guy out in Wellington I can't recall right now. Will check it out when I get home.

I like the Van Ryn's 20 year old to, but prefer the taste of the 15 year old.

Would the Wellington one be Upland? Keen to try the 65% Alcohol one

Laborie Albamic is next on my list for the old bar

When I'm feeling flush I'll have to swing by Van Ryn's. The SO has told me I need to drink more as the vast amount of red wine bottles are encroaching on her kitchen space So I might get into trouble buying more brandy.

It's not upland, but it sure looks interesting. I can imagine that being quite a kick in the teeth though, at 65% it's not going go down without a good fight.

You can't go wrong with the Laborie. I'm certainly going to be on the lookout for the Uitkyk (mind the wordplay).

Klipdrift GOLD does go down better than KWV 20yr old. Tested them both before posting just to make sure.

Have a bottle of Van Ryn 20 that I picked up at a tasting for only R600. The missus prefers the 15 while I like the 12 the most. Different strokes...

Went for tasting at Van Ryn's which was nice, and I have a bottle from Uitkyk.
