    The difference:

Torrents often have passworded files and you cannot always trust them.
Nzb's can be 1000 days old and you can download full speed
Just about anything you can imagine is on nzb.
You don't have to worry about uploading nor do you have to worry that you won't get full speed.
It costs about 70-100 bucks more to use nzb's if you use international servers but it worth the extra cost.
Nzbs are far far superior to torrents in every way except financially but you get free news servers as well but it is so cheap i doubt many people will struggle to find 100 bucks extra a month.

I don't even touch torrents anymore. nzbmatrix.com is all a person needs .

What are you struggling with though?

It's very easy actually. Get an account from newsdemon, http://www.newsgroupreviews.com/news...al-coupon.html

Download a nzb program, i pay 2 dollars for newsleecher. Then load up the server, go download some stuff from nzbmatrix and it's on

Dude new things are always daunting hey, i also thought it was rocket science at first but it's so easy. There is really nothing to it.

The most important thing is finding a good nzb program like grabit, newsleecher, sa nzb etc. Then decide if you want to struggle with free servers or whether you are willing to part with 100 bucks a month for awesome speed. Then you download an nzb double click it and magic happens , o yea you need put in the server details obviously but that is simple.

If you guys need any info just ask, some people don't want to help because it might slow their free servers down haha but there are many people willing to help.

Got a server on a 10 Gbit line downloading torrents get them at 100MBps to 300 MBps max due to hard drive speed then max out my line downloading over http which is never ever shaped and public trackers are the worst if you want anything get registered at private trackers. I get them a couple of seconds after they are released on my server pre times are anywhere between 5 seconds and 5 min then i download them automatically over http at max line speed and profit ^_^

The diffrence is torrents is more decentralised, the server just give you a list of peers that you can download the file from where as Usenet/news servers you download from a single server. As far as i have seen the max speed on a usenet server was 30 to 40 MBps where as private trackers you get some with upto 100 seedboxes on gigabit lines which will max out any line. Thats why if you have a gigabyte line news servers are basically useless since they dont max your line speed.

Torrents have served my occasional requirements ... , but it irks me on occasion when something downloads at 0.02kbps for a week

Maybe I should look at the nzb story ...

I just started using newsgroups a couple day ago (don't worry, im not using the free servers, I got an international server).

I use SABnzbd+ linked to sickbeard and couchpotato... and for a server, astraweb. I also use newzbin for my search site.

I knew nothing about newsgroups when I started, and setting everything up was not that hard... sabnzbd is very easy to setup, just go through the config and most of it is self-explainatory. Anyway, now sickbeard and couchpotato find everything I need for me and start the downloads by itself (also unpacks and renames everything keeping my download folder nice and clean), I can also login to newsbin from anywhere and queue a download to start at home. Not to mention, its going at 300kps+ non-stop (I did have to use SSL to get that speed consistantly, and may need to turn that off at some point or mweb will get pissy). Uninstalled utorrent last night.

If you need any help, pm me, i'd be happy to help.

Does anyone have any idea why Giganews prices/month are higher than Astraweb for example (For the same thing: 20 connections, virtually same retention and unlimited bandwidth and speed)?
I think Giganews is $24.99 and Astraweb is $11.00!
