I was in Vodafone World over the weekend, and popped into the HTC store. When I asked about WP7 I was told "We aren't bringing any WP7 phones into SA". No Titan, no Radar.

    Someone please prove me wrong.

(Based on how the N9 looks and feels, the Lumia 800 is going to be a beauty)

Did the same, but 2 weeks ago - and was told they MIGHT bring in the Tango and Apollo - based phones in future.
But I wouldn't hold my breath.

I am getting a WP7 HTC Radar one of these days (a gift) - and I can't wait to lay hands on it. I also asked in my local Vodafone shop if they are getting Radar or Titan and was told that they'll import if a client request them to do so. That's a bit of a let down. Does anybody know who will be carrying it in SA if any?

I was told Nokia in SA are planning a high-profile launch of the Lumia line in early 2012 (Jan, Feb?). Also, MSFT are making progress in getting Bing for SA - required for various location-based services on WP7.

2 months too late for me. I've waited for 8 months longer than usual already. Pity - I really wanted to try out the WP7 experience.

The prods might be available before official local launch, though. Worth asking them?

Yeah - but according to the latest news articles on myBB, Nokia hasn't even made up its mind yet about SA.

    I'm considering an Omnia 7. Any reason I shouldn't?

My opinion here is slightly biased - I own one.
All I can tell you is that it is a very good phone.

Though, if you can get old of the Focus S, go for that.
Otherwise, the Omnia 7 is the best of the current, available, bunch.
