This issue has apparently been sorted for most. If you are still having sound issues, you need to get a new smartcard. This info came from MC Field Services.

Why a new Smart Card? Can anyone explain the hows and whys? I still have sound problems here Weltevreden Park.
QT - do you know off-hand if this info has filtered down to the call centres yet? Sound seemed marginally beter last night, but still a few glitches. Had the call centre people phone me today regards my smart card query, and it was obvious they had no idea whatsover what I was talking about. Kept getting told to reboot my decoder. It's frustrating trying to deal with people who don't know/understand what the problem is.
Will see if I can organise some confirmation for you guys...
Same problem here.Call Centre is totally lost about this !
Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt and dance like no one is watching
DSD1110 - My decoder - Audio drop-outs on all channels
DSD1110 - Brother in law - Audio drop-outs on all channels
DSD1131 - Friends - Audio drop-outs on all channels
DSD990 - Dad's decoder - no issues at all
1xOlder HD PVR & 1xNewer HD PVR - Friends - no issues at all
These drop-outs are driving me nuts. Luckily I don't often watch TV, but whenever I walk past a TV I notice it.
I suffer from CDO, it's like OCD, but in the correct alphabetical order.
It seemed to have got a little better last week, but this week it's actually got worse, especially last night, and the Call Centre people STILL don't seem to understand what you're talking about, which doesn't help.![]()
intermittent loss of sound (like a hiccup) on all DStv channels. I'm referring to literally a split-second, so you have to listen carefully to notice. It re-occurs anywhere between every 5 - 30 seconds.
This issue has re-surfaced again, after about 4 months of Multichoice's apparent software upgrades they implemented - however, started noticing it again on Friday - always seems to start on a Friday, for some reason.
Anyone else (using a standard decoder) noticed it again, this weekend ?
Took it into the service centre all those months ago, and they tested the decoder - there was unfortunately no 'hiccup' at their centre.
You might say it has to do with my dish/installation setup, but then why has it worked flawlessly the last 4 months, and suddenly gone back to an intermittent loss of sound ?
It was never solved. Refer to the thread on the DSTV forum - MC stopped responding to this thread an a few related threads a few months ago: http://forum.dstv.com/showthread.php?t=14128
Almost 8 months after MC rolled out the buggy software most of the issues are still unresolved. They just don't give a damn about their customers, because they have the monopoly and too many loyal customers in any case.
