I'd like to buy an antenna for either my E272 or E353 modem - do antennas help these modems if I'm only getting one or two bars signal strength, and where do I buy these ?

Yes, this is what you need:
High gain antenna for cellular data cards (include 7 m cable)
Cradle for HUAWEI E272 - External Antenna Adapter
Excellent thanks Ginggs, that's the type of thing that I was thinking of - fairly pricey, but if it makes for a reliable and faster connection, I'll take it.
i have very little signal at my house and need a booster. i went onto poynting direct website and there are lots there.

so where would one mount this thing ie how do i know where to put it up?
thanks
Mica have poles & mount's - Line of sight to tower if possible.... i just loosely mounted the pole inside the mounts & fine tuned by turning the pole to achieve the highest Rssi value with laptop & MDMA on the roof.

@ Tun@ . How much are you after for the kit?
Just get a 3G WiFi router for R450 and then place it where your signal is strongest and then connect your laptop with WiFi. BTW, what network? And what modem are you using?
(CellC by my huis is swak maar Vodacom is excellent en jy weet waar ek bly. Of is jy nog steeds stuck of iBurst?)
