So anyway I am looking to do some upgrading for my place and was thinking of led downlights. Found a place in Cape Town selling 9w (3x3w) for around R125. Cheapest I have seen anywhere and they dimmable. Anyone know of any other places?

Cheapest place to get laid downlights.

Update: So anyway I bought 2x 1w lights (R32 each excl vat) and 2x 9w lights (R109 each excl vat).
1w lights are used as a night light so its dim but fine as is. Not expecting much from them.
The 9w lights are bright but i picked up two problems. 1) As its a 10 degrees beam angle, so it shines straight down on you and doesnt illuminate the full room.
2) Then after a while I figured its causing really bad radio frequency interference. Called the people whom I bought it from and they investigating.
You could try ACDC Dynamics in Paarden Eiland, but I just order mine off deal-extreme.
You get a few different models of the www.uniontechsa.co.za lamps at Build-It and the Agrimark stores. Some of the newer models are 50° where the older ones were 35°. There are 1.8W, 3W, 4W and 5W models in WW and CW, MR16 and GU10 ranging between about R50 and R120 each. More expensive if you buy it directly from Uniontech! Then the best lamps I got to date are from Rabtron - 45° @ R79 each (1-10) and if you buy more they are cheaper. P&P is R35 for up to 1kg. http://shop.rabtron.co.za/catalog/gu...ac-p-5656.html
I suffer from CDO, it's like OCD, but in the correct alphabetical order.
LOL.
I found that the CFL lamps are a nice power saver but dammit, they take long to start up. Not good if you need a quick light. Some are a bit faster at startup, but still slow. I also know that if you buy 12V LED's, not all transformers are compatible with the LED lights. IMO, those cheap LED ones are rubbish.
