Thanks. I got one before they ran out.Only two left.
I must say that I wasn't too impressed with ICS when I first started using it. My previous phone was a Galaxy S (not rooted) and maybe I was just used to Touchwiz and knew how it worked....but after a few days with ICS, I'm quite impressed with how easy it is to navigate around the phone, send SMS's etc. The more I use it, the more things I find!
Was also worried about the size, the Galaxy S is nearly as big as the screen for the Galaxy Nexus! Again, after some use it feels very easy to use and I don't feel the extra size when it's in my pocket either. I must add that I HAD to show a few iPhone 4S users in the office, lets just say they were VERY jealous of the size. After playing with the Galaxy Nexus and then going back to the 4S, they were commenting how cramped the 4S felt because of the small screen

Any further news from Vodacom on stocking this unit?
So is this better than the SII?
Depends what you are looking for. This is a pure Google phone, so if you are used to the S2 and like the touchwiz, it wont have this. It also has some other irks like a 5mp camera, no expandable memory and a couple of others but, it is also the first phone to have ICS.
Samsung have already confirmed that the S3 will not be making its debut at the conference in Barcelona so that wait will continue. I am still undecided as to whether I can wait for the S3 which will in all likelihood only become available in the 2nd half of this year, or whether I will go for the Nexus.
Yesterday I went to the iStore in Vodacom World to buy a friend an iPhone case. While I was there, decided to stop buy the Samsung store and check out the Galaxy Nexus.
I only had the opportunity to play with it for five minutes or so. But in my impressions in that brief time were: yes, this is the real deal. I have literally never in my life seen such a nice mobile device before.
The screen is huge, crisp and beautiful. The glass surface is great to the touch. The absence of a huge manufacturer logo on the front makes the phone look much classier and more refined than the SGS2. The phone is much thinner than I expected; it feels only marginally thicker than the RAZR. I was expecting the build quality to be a disappointment, but honestly, even though the phone is made out of plastic, it still feels solid and expensive to me. (I still prefer the feel of metal, but I also understand that there are significant disadvantages in terms of antenna performance and so on to going that route.) And Ice Cream Sandwhich is a beautiful OS. I've tried out ICS builds on my current phone, but I was still unprepared for how good it is when running on proper hardware, optimised for speed and smoothness, and displayed on the GNex's wonderful screen.
There are lots of well-respected tech reviewers (eg. Chris Ziegler at The Verge) who say that this is the best smartphone ever made. I'm inclined to believe them.
I have an issue with the phone though, the external speaker. It seems like the volume is quite low even though volume is on full, maybe it's the weird ring tones on the phone because speaker phone sounds ok.
Is it just me or does it seem like Angry Birds runs faster on the Galaxy Nexus?! And the res is nice!!
Download volume + (Sound boost) from the market:
https://market.android.com/details?i...HJvaWQubHZoIl0.
The paid version is available for free from the developers website:
http://androidaudiohacks.com/?p=158
If you still feel that the volume is not high enough, install equaliser by SA labs from the market but dont uninstall Volume +:
https://market.android.com/details?i...bGl6ZXJhcHAiXQ..
For some people when you have both apps installed, the volume is more than sufficient.
