Recovery mode is BOTH volume buttons + power button. Otherwise you'll boot into download mode.
And on the contrary, my battery life is much improved since Jelly Bean.

Must say my battery drainage seems more linear now with JB, no surprising drops.
Has anyone had any problems with Media Server using more battery then usual.
So, I got Android 4.1.2 pushed to my handset last night.
Not many user-facing features, apart from the ability to open notifications with one finger. Still, yet another illustration of why Nexus = awesome.
Hey Vulk are you an Yakujxw?? or on the native google build - as mine hasn't come through OTA yet??
Yakju. I'm afraid the ones they sell through Vodacom are all Yakjuxw, so they're delayed by a month or so in terms of OTAs. I had to convert mine to Yakju in order to get speedy updates.
I converted to yakju (and double checked just now) No update yet![]()
That kinda defeats the whole point of converting to yakju...
yes, but this horse wants tequila...![]()
Well if the actual ICS to JB update was anything to go by, time wise. Google released it on 15 July, if memory serves, and the Yakjuxw OTA came through mid September for me (which is a full 2 months delay). I remember agonizing over whether to flash my phone or not (I'm not that good with Tech, which means usually I break everything I touch, so I'm pretty glad I didn't do it in the end). We will see how long it takes for the Yakjuxw OTA to come out. Should be 15 December by this logic.
thx 4 the feedback tho

Just wait for the OTA update. It's easier, it's non-destructive, and quite, frankly, it's not a very important update.
Waiting another week to pull down notifications with one finger won't kill you![]()
Yeah, you're right - I waited 2 months for the big one, so no big deal :-)
Another quick question - do you know if the South African version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is LTE compatible?
