Hi
Firstly, you are correct. FNB does NOT reward their client's with eBucks for ANY online transactions. To earn eBucks you must physically swipe your card. This applies to both business and individual client.
Secondly, I believe VCpay is not for everyone. For example, your needs is to earn eBucks while paying your bills. Since you are making the effort to go to an EasyPay point, there is no need for you to use VCpay - this trip to shoprite will both pay your bills and earn you rewards.
However, consider a Capitec client who's only concerned with paying bills. He/She can perform an EFT into the VCPay account and pay their bills online.
Basically, it comes down to the clients needs.
The reason why I use VCpay:
I shop quite frequently online (Kalahari/Amazon/EasyPay/) and my needs are to earn eBucks and Shop Online (Duh!).
So, I go into a PnP, top up my VCpay account (got my eBucks), now I can shop online (Yeah!).
Today, I actually found a good use. My kids wanted to rent a movie so I suggested they try that new DSTV Box Office. However, the kids don't have a credit card. I just created a virtual card (using the VCpay app) and SMS'd them the card details (from the app). Regardless to say, the kids successfully rented the movie.
So, there are a number of reasons to use (and not to use) VCpay.
--> Give people VCpay Cards that can be used for the amount only (like gift cards)
--> People who don't have credit/cheque cards
--> Cost saving if you wish to transact online
--> Unlike other online payment (like eBucks or PayU) VCpay is excepted almost everywhere, since it's a mastercard
-->& most importantly securely transact
