I posted the below in another 86 thread and only saw this thread now. This one seems much more civilised so I'm posting here as well

I was shown an 86 with an upgraded DVD navigation system (I think the sales person called it an "Option One" or something like that). It was fitted with a rear-view camera, an iPod dock connection in the glove box and a small microphone above the mirror.
Does anyone here have any more information about this system? The correct name would be a great start LOL. On my Offer to Purchase it just states “Navigation System – R15,000.
I’m trying to find out what mapping system it’s using (Garmap or something else) and will I be able to record where I’ve been and will I be able to download the tracks to my PC (for billing and SARS use).
There seems to be a ton of other Double-DIN DVD systems out there ranging from R3,000 to R18,000. R15,000 sounds like a lot for this system since it looked kind of flimsy, e.g. the one I was shown was installed on Friday and yesterday it was already broken, the face didn’t want to close properly after opening. The reverse camera and microphone also looked very flimsy. The picture from the camera was not so bad though.
I do not blame you from running from there, they started trolling that thread :/
anyways apparently its satnav isnt that grand it doesnt use garmin based GPS, its toyota's "own" system but im not too sure who actually handles it.
Saw one of these at Toyota N1 City last week. Wasn't sure what the hell it was. Looks kindly ugly beautiful. Must go around to see how it looks up close
..l.
If its the same system as in the current hilux. . . Navigation doesnt work. . At all. Reverse camera is very nice. Works well in my DC. The radio has got USB, but sometimes the sound just goes away on long journeys. I saw how they reset the system, so if it happens I just do that. It seems to be a factory problem on the hilux's. Just ask if its the same aystem as in the Hilux.
As far as I know it is NOT the same as the Hilux one, but we are all guessing here, as nobody has seen the final thing yet.
We have been offered a great system by MotorOne - (WorldMark) - beautiful looking system. I'll have to dig through my emails for prices.
OK here it is:
