Question Does anyone know where to buy cerium oxide from?

I would like to buy some of this because I read that it would work for buffing micro scratches out of watch faces and gorilla glass, does anyone know what type of shop would sell cerium oxide powder?

On the topic I heard brassy works but haven't tried it.

Any idea on how long to polish for? Both are quite hard substances.

Gorilla Glass as in a capacitive touch-screen? I'd be very wary of doing that...

I once got some 'polish' from a place in Durban that makes the lenses for spectacles. The dude gave me some in a 100ml bottle. I dunno if the stuff was cerium oxide but it looked like a VERY fine white powder which was suspended in a clear liquid, if you left it to stand the powder would sink to the bottom of the liquid. you had to shake it before use which made it turn into a white liquid.

Sorry but I cannot recall the name or the location of the place. I phoned some optometrists and one put me onto the place.

Yes, with a LOT of elbow grease. I think they use machines for the polishing.

Yeah, you are not gonna find what you are looking for on a weekend at the hardware shop

Disappointed that the brass polish didn't work... The scratch is light enough that i can't feel it with my nail but still causes optical distortion (can see it with bright light colours when screen is on)

Déjà vu, I got a feeling from last night is playing again...

Think I must offer to loan the oke my floor standers, the vocals on his speakers are muffled/unclear.
