Did anybody get a tenda router mine is 3G611R+ to work with the e1752 modem.

On the Tenda website it is compatible. I am using cellc simcard also tried vodacom one.
My access point is: internet
dailing: *99#

In the system log I get the following error:
13 2009-06-06 09:37:59 PPP authentication succeeded
14 2009-06-06 09:37:59 PPP LCP down

(Time is out after reset)
The router is fine as soon as I put another modem in it connects with both sims.
Any Help Please?

Had a problem on the same Tenda with a ZTE MF190, which is also on the compatibility list, but would not work. (modem not being correctly identified and not connecting)

Suggestion was to roll back firmware to H2_V3.3.1d
This seems to have worked in my case, for now anyway.
Busy testing to see if it remains stable.

I tried downgrading no help. The usb light is on it does pick up the modem correctly it seems.
I just can't get it to connect. Keep getting LCP down error.

I'm having the same problem, but on MTN - also using E1752

It connects for a couple of minutes, and then it drops. And the LCP down error is shown. I've also tried all the different firmware versions for the Tenda 3G611R+ but no luck!

Has anybody solved this?

Tenda 3G611R+ & huawei e173

I have tried the huawei e173 with the same router. The same "LCP down" error occurs. The problem that I have noticed is that the router will not allow the authentication "handshake" (synchronisation) if there is no HSDPA/3G connection i.e. if your modem is flashing with a green light then you are on a GSM network and you will NOT connect. The modem must be flashing blue before you try to connect.

It is not a modem or a network fault as I can connect directly from my laptop with GSM or 3G signal. It is a problem with the Tenda router. There are no 3G security settings on the router's webpage but it seems that HSDPA and GSM use two different synchronisation processes and the router only allows for the HSDPA type.

Hope this helps you, where I live there is no 3G, so it doesn't help me.

if your modem is flashing with a green light then you are on a GSM network and you will NOT connect. The modem must be flashing blue before you try to connect.
You need to distinguish different modes flashing green:
- single flash every 1-3 seconds means registered to 2G network
- double flash every 1-3 seconds means modem is searching for network
If you set modem to 3G-only, you will never observe single green flash.

If you set modem to 3G-only, you will never observe single green flash.

Is there an AT command to permanently set the modem to only register with WCDMA networks? Once the modem is in the router then there is no control over the network selection with Mobile Partner unless all other modes have been disabled on the modem itself.

There is a command, always forgetting. Mobile Partner allows to change to WCDMA-only, in MDMA it is called 3g-only, the same things. Once command is accepted, it is stored in the modem. Unless router changes this settings, it will stay forever.

Hi there. Bought a Tenda 3G611R+ router yesterday. I am using Neotel ZTE AC2736 dongle with mine. Router is working fine and dongle shows that it is getting power. Router and dongle also shows that they pick each other up. But I was struggling to connect to internet. After searching forums and trying various posts, I finally got mine to work.

I am running Firmware H2_V3.3.1d on Tenda router.
I also put my Username/Password combination into the Advanced PPP settings section on the router browser page. Thius is what seems to get mine going.

Don't know if it will work for anybody else, just putting it out there in case.
Also thanks to everyone posting here that helped with troubleshooting.

good day guys, just to put it out there, the Tenda 3G622R+ and modem E367 does work, although it's not on the compatibility list.

Hi guys, could anyone possibly help me with the right settings to be able use the E367 mtn dongle with the Tenda 3g622r+ router? I just cant seem to get it to work?

I also have a Tenda 3G622R+ router with a Huawei E303 modem connecting to 8ta. I also connect fine but after a few minutes, it loses the signal and the router's log says LCP down. I've upgraded the router's firmware to the latest version available.
