The banck charges is the same , you use your savings account money on this card, they destroy the old card.

very impressed with the service was so quick to get it done, and that all after 5pm , take that steve!

Got mine also after work. Also took about 15 - 20 minutes. Mine took a bit longer cause just as I was about to walk out I turned back and confirmed that I can use it to shop online and she said no...I have to have it activated. See..when she asked me if she can activate any new services for me I did not know online shopping is included. I thought it was standard. So then she had to go back in and activate SMS notifications (seems this is mandatory for security reasons with the online shopping thing)

They then send you a 10 digit code via SMS and then after 24 - 73 hours you must go to a website and create you secure code which you then use to shop online with your card.

I tried it now...but did not accept my identity verification details. Phoned the Capitec help line and she said I must try tomorrow and if it does not work tomorrw...the day after. Reason why it takes a bit of time is because our details needs to filter through to MasterCard.
Now why you loer en kyk gelyk?
Is ek miskien van goud gemake?

Thats all I was wondering.
I know they do that for pizza delivery. Never encountered an online shop that did it. But anyway it's the number they care about, not your name.

+1 For vcpay - works like a charm.

Kindly note that we do have selected branches in the Western Cape ( Somerset Mall, Somerset Vineyard) who are issuing the debit Master card.
Yay - I think it is almost time. Time to kick blabsa. Kick them where it hurts.

    This.

The latest advisory we received from the bank ~1.5ish years ago still mentioned that we should do this for any large/high risk transactions using eg. international cards or any phone-verified off-line transactions when eg. the power is out. We still have the zipzap machine here somewhere! The imprint we take is useless without the cvv number in any case. It is just there to protect the merchant.

Personally I am more than happy to give a company an imprint of my card - if the situation warrants it - The thing is I physically remove the cvv from all my cards so ...
    (Mandatory) . .

Do they charge the R35 for Replacement/Supplementary card fee when you get the new card?

    Sorted now.

Working. Didn't have to pay a replacement fee, nor do any of the activation stuff, but I've already used it.

    *shrug*
