It is a builtin vBulletin protection against accidental double posting.

then they should make it so that its be able to tell by the contents that it's a double post and not allow it

cant you at least shorten it like ettu suggested? 10 sec is IMO more than enough

I understand the frustration, but this feature also stop spam flooding of a forum. We receive an increasing amount of international spam, and by disabling this feature or shortening the time we can open ourselves up to rogue posters.

If it is truly irritating we can maybe select 20 sec…

But yes, 20 second would do. I normally end up with having to wait between 5 and 7 seconds before it will accept a post again, so if it's 20 it should work perfectly!

Here's what you do, you quickly set your pc clock forward by 30 seconds and then you should be able to post again.

LOL! Just read for a bit longer and then you can post. 30 seconds is not all that long. (If you don't post one-liners all the time )
