Thread: MTN Uncapped Lite throttled since 2012/02/01

I actually have a suggestion, perhaps mtn could charge an aditional fee to throttle at a higher speed, but give true transfer rates of that throttled speed.

I wouldn't mind paying an extra R100 or something to atleast get 384, as long as it's that speed all day and not 4KB/s some times of the day...

Glad this thread came up, I almost fell in the same trap :P

Okay, good news, something happened on their side. I'm currently getting just under 1mbps. Don't know if they lifted the throttle or not, though.

    Does anyone know why?

This is what I got just now. It varies, but this was the best result so far.

Or perhaps, finishing up your 3GB.

You're probably right. Well I'm downloading stuff at the moment. If it goes on after 3GB I'll let you know.

Don't know what's going on but yesterday when I got home my connection started running at an average transfer of 80KB/s and then hitting 290KB/s for about an hour then dropped back to around 80KB/s for the next 12 hours and counting...

Can't be that they reset my 3gb as I did around 7gb

So I guess we should expect random results while they stabilise their QOS rules?

Hmmm. What ever they're up to, they might make one consumer (me) interested.
