Seriously, you believe that? They are chickens and they produce eggs - that is what they do. Whether they have classical music playing in the background and pastel shaded wallpaper in their coop, it makes no difference to the primary objective of producing eggs.

Then dont buy free range eggs. If you support neglect of animals then thats your choice.

When you eat anything, what is it that goes through your mind? Is it the taste of the food? Perhaps the TV show you are watching? Or do you sit there evaluating the process that each bit of food took in order to get there on your plate?

Also, how does what you think affect your need of feeding? Do you find that you are filled for longer and have a better metabolism while you ponder over the origin of your food and knowing that you were kind to animals because they are so tasty?

Its simply I support farming practises that are mindful of animals and the environment. Whats your beef with those?

My beef with those? Oh nothing, except that the only thing they produce us pure sullbhit, the kind that people consume thinking they have done a good deed. But hey, if living in a bubble of illusion makes you happy then good for you.

I am with freshy on this one at least we are trying and may be some of the places are actually sticking to the ideals of organic and free range and i get a little less toxic chemicals or what ever in my system and where possible be humane.
At the very least it is the thought that counts.

Ok, next topic then, organic, just what exactly do you think is organic and what makes "non-organic" bad for you?

Off the top of my head, and I'm no expert by a long way, but how about pesticides, food colourings, flavourings, growth hormones, genetically modified organisms and workers pissing in your juice?

Then, if you feel inclined to Cc every major European office & Australia, you shd. be able to pick-up all their E-mail addresses here:

I'M QUITE SURE THEY'LL THEN BE HEARING FROM THEIR OVERSEAS OFFICES, AND THEY'LL BE FORCED TO GIVE YOU SOME ANSWERS !

(Wouldn't waste the time sending anything to Japan, as they have rather poor animal-rights records - whaling in the Southern oceans etc.)
Nice... learnt something new today. And here I thought SPAR originated in Benoni somewhere.

Pesticides - they keep pests off the crops, but hey, if you like your produce full of pests and their eggs then go for it.
Colourings, flavourings - well excuse me if I want to enjoy food that looks good and tastes good.
growth hormones - you mean the kind designed for plants? are you plant? are any of your organs plants? I don't see the problem here.
genetically modified - helping natural selection to work faster in order to feed the over populated human race? you are against that ?!

Come on, its time you stopped living in the fluffy dream and get real.

Lol, I've got my head in the clouds? You're obviously one of those blokes who think he can argue his way out of anything at a braai by being more opinionated and louder than everyone else. Doesn't work on the interweb does it though?

Your question was what makes non-organic bad for you?

What has your answer got to do with anything other than your over inflated opinion? You like sunset yellow in your Doritos because it makes them look lovely, good for you, doesn't stop it or 100 other food colouring being bad for you though does it? Your opinion counts for nothing.

Pesticides, i.e. chemicals, you like to lick them from your shiny appple, good for you, doesn't stop them being bad for you does it?

Growth hormones. Not for plants, for livestock. The kind that get injected into cows to make farmers have a higher yield on meat and produce such as milk. Good for the farmers, good for your pocket, but good for you? I think not. It's fecking growth hormones ffs.

GMO long term effects? Who knows, I don't and neither do you, but playing god in a lab might again save you a rand or two but I'd rather cough up for something else thanks. If I lived in a sand pit in West Africa, different story, I don't. Life expectancy is important to me.

Never mind fluffy dreams, I'd say it's time you stopped arguing for the sake of it.

Here are some : If 70% of food is genetically modified that means we only have 30% to go to perfection.
