Default Are these cheap cellphones from China?

    http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/58003...band_WiFi.html

Also check out the other cell phones sold by this supplier. Looks interesting, but those phones are very underpowered (low ram and slow CPUs).

As to cheap phones from America? Whats the difference if it comes from China vs India vs The America's. You know China makes the iPhone? its an American company by name and design but the rest is all China.

A better question would be is this cheap phones worth it?

There I would say depends on your ability to get replacements/repairs down the line cause in today's day and age that is mostly what you main concern should be.
.... and thanks for all the fish.

    Operating System: Android 2.3
    Hardware Chipset: MTK6573
    - CPU Speed: 680MHz
    - RAM: 256MB

    Screen: Resistive
You still get resistive touch screens?! Lulz. Rather buy a 2-year old second-hand HTC or Samsung. That's a piece of crap.

Resistive screen, not worth R500. Bought a resistive screen pad and give it away after two hours.

All phones are made in China nowadays, iPhones, Blackberries, the lot. If you are looking for a reputable affordable smartphone, try AG Cellular, they retail in Edgars, Jet and Foschini. I have used their 40ZA, good phone. You can speak to them on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/agcellular

How is the AG 40ZA... I've heard read some bad reviews on it, such as poor network quality and poor internet connectivity. Thanks...

When you see dual sim stay away.

I've had an iPhone 4 knockoff in my hands...it looked almost like the real thing, except for the logo on the back.
the UI was extremely similar, and would probably fool the average man on the street who has seen pictures of an iPhone but has never actually USED it.

    -Same box size
    -Same box Printing quality
-Same box iPhone Photo on the box
    -Same Accesories
    -Same packaging quality
    -Same iPhone size
    -Same iPhone design
    -Same iPhone buttons
    -Same iPhone feel
    -Same iPhone wallpaper
    -Same iPhone apps
    -Same iPhone icons
-Phone, sms, GPS, touch screen and Camera all work

    The only differences?
    -5mb of storage
-few UI issues (makes a strange sound when clicking an App, slow scrolling, different transitions)
-Most of the Apps look similar, but do not completely work well, or at all.
-probably no way to add new apps or to use it with itunes.
-camera quality low and very dark
-It has a "TV App", but just shows static. you can select a country a try to "tune it", but it never really actually works or finds a station.
-battery EXTREMELY EXTREMELY EXTREMELY weak (and it can be removed from the phone like the old nokia's)
-All ringtones are MIDI (but still sound pretty close to the real thing, I must say)

These things are made to basically bull5h1t an unsuspecting person into believing it's an iPhone, for long enough to hand over some cash.
(usually behind an alley in some "it fell of off a truck" sounding deal)
