I've been on iBurst for about 4 years now and have been quite the loyal customer. Never really complain about much, but for the past few weeks iBurst has been up their knees in horse ****! I can't even stream my radio stations which are all around 64kb - 128kbps. That's PATHETIC!

seriously this is ridiculous my connection is crappy, keep getting disconnected, and if I am connected I get crap speeds like this:

Local
Download Speed: 130 kbps (16.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 53 kbps (6.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 220 ms

International
Download Speed: 92 kbps (11.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 284 kbps (35.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 506 ms
and I have a 2Mbps modem!

I was thinking the same after reading that article, but some kind of official response from iBurst would be nice.
Are they so heavily dependant on EASSy though? What about all the other cables? Surely there should be some redundancy and a contingency plan in place...

It may have something to do with "EASSy downtime may last for days"

It's purely speculation on my part though, as no official response has been forthcoming from iBurst yet to my knowledge.
It does beg the following questions if that is in fact the case:

The EASSy fault only occurred on Friday morning.

Midrand - Neology, download 0.51Mbps, upload 0.27Mbps, ping 119ms

London - TranceFM, download 0.28Mbps, upload 0.04Mbps, ping 275ms

I tried tunnelling all traffic through my PC at work:

Midrand - Neology, download 0.49Mbps, upload 0.27Mbps, ping 144ms

London - TranceFM, download 0.49Mbps, upload 0.17Mbps, ping 323ms

My downloads speed is ok but the video buffering on youtube or any other video streaming site is pathetic. Even grooveshark songs (playing mp3's) take a while to play.

Where I was getting over 1Mbps at 6.30am, I am now only getting this: http://www.speedtest.net/result/1784401508.png

It's been like this for days now, just got onto a new contract with the 2Mb modem...
Had two antenna's connected, but Iburst promised that the issue would be gone by buying a splitter...(NOT!)
Signal strength also jumping all the time, I know we in a poor coverage area, but even on the 1Mb modem I got better!!!
Signal strength used to be between 90 and 100%, it goes down to 40, goes up again, but jumps the whole time and getting frame errors from over 15% sometimes!

Speedstests I did this morning was while it was raining, so it's not the weather and past few days the weather has been good anyways..
I'm barely able to run a speedtest at this point.

Some technical advise would be much appreciated....

International has been very sloppy for me last few weeks, I am getting half the speeds I use to get. Not impressed.
