Thread: Cancelling Vodacom MyGig 2

    Default Cancelling Vodacom MyGig 2

Hi .Anyone cancelled their 2GB + 2GB contract after 12 months.
When I signed up i was told its only valid for 12 months. Now when i tried to cancel I get an SMS saying the 12 months was only for the discounted subs and the contract is valid for 24 month. which means i have to pay the next 12 months at full price.
I will obviously contest this but anyone here had issues with cancelling after 12 months ?

Thank you Corbin. I have checked on the line and found the service call. I have emailed the owner of that log and requested that she investigate further and I have attached the memo from Vodacom regarding the Mofaya deal back then stipulating the 12 month contract period.

It must be noted though that the current Mofaya deals that are currently running are in fact for 24 months...just so there is no confusion.

I will revert back once feedback is received.

    Regards:
    OC

You are welcome. I made a error...the person that is handling this is actually a he. lol.

Anyways...he just called me and I explained to him how it is supposed to work. He understands now and he will be taking it further. The contract term date will need to be fixed up first before a cancellation quote can be doen...else the system will charge you.

Lets give him a bit of time to get this sorted. If nothing has happened by lets say Friday...will follow up.

Your query is now resolved Corbin. Your dates have been amended as follows.

    Contract Term 2012-05-15
    Activation Date 2007-05-15
    Deactivation Date
    Upgrade Date 2012-02-15

    Sorry about the trouble.

    Hi there,

I have had the EXACT same problem. I saw today that Vodacom had deducted a huge amount from my account. The "My Gig 2" was only meant to be for 12 months. I started in May 2011. I do understand that it is my duty to terminate the contract, but when i phoned Vodacom, they tell me it is a 24 month conract!!

Thank you. Call logged with explanation from me. I will keep a eye on the status of the service request on the system. Could be 24 - 48 working hours before we get a response on the system. They might also contact you telephonically.

Pleasure. Lets hope they fix it for you. :-) If not we will take it from there. I dont forsee any problems as at the time you took out the contract the Mofaya deals were 12 months. It is only now the current Mofaya deals that is 24 months.
