Thread: Tooth Implants

    Default Tooth Implants

Has anyone had a tooth implant lately or is anyone here in that sort of business?

I have 2 teeth that need fake implants and was wondering what sort of cost I would be looking at.

The titanium screw in the jawbone type? You're looking at around 8k per implant without the cost of capping etc, depending whether they need to pack in artificial bone.

I had an implant a while back, I got it for free too as it was a new type they were trying out.

Implants are like cars, there are chery implants and then there are ferrari implants. It also depends on the situation, bone or soft tissue augmentation might be needed or sinus lifts. They range from about +/- 10k to 50k. Sounds like youre looking at replacing molars/premolars, not in aesthetic zone, doubt much augmentation is needed but depending on sinus or bone available grafting might need to be done. Why not go option of a bridge if implants are too expensive, medical aids cover bridges (depending on plan/savings). My advice go to dentist, let him evaluate you and get a quote.

Thanks for the help. I've been missing my one tooth for quite a while - I was eating something and the tooth split in 4, another I need to possibly take out and replace - had root canal a few years back but the tooth is not so great anymore.

Had a titanium implant done around 5 or so years ago, with a bit of bone augmentation to upper jaw (as it was in aesthetic zone). Cost around 15k for the whole procedure back then...

Just got the rest of the bill for my fiancee's implants.
She had 4 titanium screws done, and then 4 caps (nonaesthetic). No bone augmentation was needed.

Total came to around R70k *cough*
The capping was R30k. Implants R40k.

Thought I would need implants and root canal (my teeth were in terrible state after around 8 years without medical).
They gave me 8 cnc made fillings and several old type fillings, ended up around R2K per CNC filling and R400 per other filling.
