    Default Check if these servers are ok for basica Admin SPEC

    Hey all

    Basically buying 4 server for each of my posts this will be used for userid creation for the sperate standalone network

    might put in central virus scanners etc but should these be ok with SBS 2003 ?

    Well, depends on what the servers will run but I would try not to use SATA hard drives in any server, unless it's a test server.

    If you can tell us exactly what you plan to use the servers for then we can offer better advice.... like file and print sharing, domain controller role, DHCP DNS etc, what exactly will the server's purpose/role be? UserID creation does not mean much...
    Using SBS usually suggests that the server will have multiple roles on...
    Edit: and how many users per site where the servers will be located....

    Well this is the thing all i want to do with the server is make it act as a DHCP server, i will need Active directory for creating user accounts for users and possibly a antivirus deployment and prehaps a WSUS server as well.

    Think is my work network is locked down so this is going to be used for the "dirty " network each site has around 8 users each which will increase gradually

    so im not sure all i wanted was a low end server in each region
