I just tried to buy an iTunes gift card from Best Buy. I got the idea from comments on this article: http://mybroadband.co.za/news/intern...-facebook.html
I followed the same process you did and did not see the notice on their site about international credit card purchases for iTunes that will be automatically cancelled.

Anyway, I was able to checkout and payment went through on my card. After a couple of minutes I received this mail...

The order you placed on 6/7/2012 has been cancelled because we were unable to verify your information.

Important information about Apple® iTunes Codes and international credit cards:
You may not use an international credit card to purchase an iTunes Code. If you attempted to purchase an iTunes Code from Best Buy in the U.S. using an international credit card, your order has been automatically canceled. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Did the payment for your order also go through? If so, did they refund you eventually? Otherwise I'll probably have to get my bank to reverse the payment

I tried to order again and it got cancelled again. I PM'd them again and finally get the following:

Thanks for getting back to me. Due to a recent change in policies, BestBuy.com is no longer able to sell iTunes codes with international credit cards. Although you did follow the process for standard international orders, this is the one exception that currently stands. Unfortunately any order of an iTunes codes where the address is international (meaning the Kempwood address in Houston) will be cancelled.

Again, this is only for iTunes codes and other purchases still work. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Yes. The money was returned in a few days. I wonder if I use another US address eg. One for a hotel and use my SA credit will they still cancel it?
