what a coincidence, I just bought one of these - sorry not from a shop in joburg.
If you know of any shop that sells watch batteries I need to change some, if not will have to import these as well...

Swwet - go to Meadowdale first and if they don't have stock, Bruma is around the corner - just check the build quality before buying (although that goes without saying when it comes to the SOCKS)

Sweet, Meadowdale is right by my folks place so will try their first. For R120 I am not going to expect to much, as long as it can take links out of watch straps its all good.

I took off links just to see how - you actually dont need the kit, well it depends on your strap I suppose - if its pins or not.

Re the batteries I need jewelery shops will probably be over priced, a set of 40 mixed is 5$ so will probably just buy that...ok, I just bought them, easier than going looking for shops etc

I normally do it myself with a needle and a pair of pliers. The links on this new watch I got are serious in their tight so it didn't work, plus I can just see I am going to slip and scratch the crap out of it.

Every time I am in this position I say I need to get a tool kit, I think now is the time.

Just an update. . . . china mall in Bruma had none. Was pretty surprised.
