    Hi 8Ta

    Since you upped the power for Wolfling, I have not had any disconnections. So that must have been the problem all along. I have now been up for 15 hours without a disconnection.

    As this seems to be a consistent problem for this area running of the Parkhurst Tower, when there is congestion, why don't they just leave the power settings alone?

    Anyway, all I can say is thanks for fixing it.

    Unfortunately, this does not seem to have resolved my problem. Has 3 disconnects in the last 20 mins and each time I have to reboot.

    I don't know if it is possible for you to erect an external antenna. I am going to do this over the next few days.

    The way, I understand it (in simple terms), is that when there is congestion, the system drops the weaker signals and focuses on the stronger signal because it is spending too much time trying to keep the weaker signal active. So, the objective is to ensure that you have a strong signal and the only way to do this is to erect an external antenna or for 8Ta to erect a tower closer to us or for them to boost their signal, or all three.

    Have sort of erected an external antenna (sitting on top of a ladder) and wow...what a difference. I am now getting a consistant -65dBm and changed my modem to a E353 so I could connect the antenna, so the speeds are also up. Not that I have ever had a problem with the speeds, only disconnections, so we will see if this makes a difference.

    I have an external antenna and it makes a massive difference on both 8ta and CellC, BUT, at the end of each month, when the network seems quite loaded, both connections struggle and are frequently disconnected - last night and the night before, I was disconnected from the 8ta network every ~10 mins - not sure why this is, but assume the tower picks up that I am further away than other folks and throws me off - just have to live with it....

    Apologies for the late response. We are waiting for approval to adjust the tilt to improve your signal. An impact assessment has been done and the approval should hopefully be approved soon.

    Just after posting above I had 4 disconnections (in about half hour). But maybe it is regular type around 12 o'clock.

    Although I won't complain since I am not paying for this month... I know the new tower will take some more time... but do you have an ETA on the tower upgrade at least?

    (Tip for those of you who is disconnecting constantly: This might work for you, if you do not send a constant stream of data you will get kicked off the network, vodacom also does this. Try using a VoIP program just to have a constant stream like for example Team Speak or Ventrillo or anything else with a constant stream of data. Skype does not work with this. You do not need to talk or listen to anything, it just needs to be open.)
