Default Can anyone do a X360 Slim drive firmware backup in Durban Area ?

    Hi

I'm looking just to get a copy of the firmware from my X360 lite-on drive, I just want to be able to take the drive on its own somewhere and have them read it to a flash stick. I don't want to turn on my Xbox without the drive connected and buying all the adapters to be able to do it myself will most likely be more expensive than getting it done.

Believe it or not I don't want it flashed which is why I have to ask in the first place instead of just use Google.

Have not played around with the slims, but won't jungleflasher be able to do a fw dump?

You have 2 ways to do it.

1 - Hook it up to a sata to usb device and use jungleflasher.
2 - Hook it up to a via vt6421 chipset sata card and use jungleflasher.

There are two problems I face with this.
1 - Power, if the xbox 360 starts without a drive hooks up it gets flagged, Microsoft doesnt do anything to you because well the sheer ammount of scenario's where it could have happened (during a repair for example). I dont want anything flagged though and I dont have a old 360 nor an adaptor for it.

2 - Connectivity, I no longer have a sata card with that chipset nor do I have a sata to usb device.

I have no desire of purchasing R350 odd worth of hardware to do something that takes 5 minutes unless I can help it.

It's not difficult to do, I'd buy the hardware if I intended to do any flashing but I dont.

Don't you have a external USB hard drive that you can use the interface of?

I have one lying in my drawer but I'm about 40km north of durbs up the coast.

You can ship the DVD-ROM via Speed Services to Pretoria with a flash drive and it will be shipped back to you with your FW backup. You can send a PM!
