My guess would be some floating platform or maybe even a mini-sub.
I'm not saying it's not a good trick.

What gets me as how otherwise intelligent honestly seem to think magicians are able to bend the laws of physics. They're like that's impossible! Um, no its not its a trick.

I just hope Dynamo doesn't turn into another David Blaine and try to convince the world he's for deals with stupid, pointless stunts.

Dynamo is okay. His illusions are mostly modern interpretations of old techniques. Much of what he does only takes place after careful observation and planning. Such as putting someone's phone inside a beer bottle. He has the beer bottle and phone with him beforehand and uses sleight of hand to swap them out, but only after identifying a group with the same combination of phone and beer bottle that he has prepared already. His walking on water is done on platforms. His making things disappear through glass is just the use of strong magnets. Putting his arm through glass is just an illusion of angles. The one with Rio Ferdinand is simply just an escape hatch.

I struggle with his showmanship because he really comes across as a bit boring, in an effort to create this mysterious "aura"...

Even so DJ, he must pre-arrange as well. Like the phone in bottle - most instances he walks away. So obviously he has to come back (off camera) to give the person his real phone (the one he threw in his pocket) back. The angle illusion is also plausible with regard to the hand through the glass illusion.

What's your take on the one where he stood behind those American black dudes blowing a horn 3 times and when they looked up he was quite a distance away from them standing on a tower?

He just performs another illusion to make it seem like he's doing it in reverse. Or something along those lines. They don't show it because it makes the illusion pretty obvious. And yes, it is all researched beforehand, including the crowds...

Perception illusion. Like walking through a wall; making the Eiffel Tower disappear etc. Usually performed with mirrors and other bits and pieces of visual trickery...

    Agreed, Dynamo isn't fantastic
But there was no escape hatch with the Rio trick, he simply walks through the door lol, the bodyguards block your view of the door with their jackets, thus making it clear that the crowd are in on the trick too, which means the same probably applies to most of his other illusions

On the other hand Penn & Teller fool us is a brilliant show
BBC Entertainment just finished the first series

They call it at the same time or that is completely staged with tons of research. They wait to hear what ringtone the guy has, then replicate it on the dummy phone. Simple. You can quite clearly see the sleight of hand swap with that trick...

    Has anyone watched Derren Brown?,
Guys like David Blain, Chris Angel and this Dynamo guy, simple camera tricks and such are easily the explanation, but how the heck does Derren Brown do what he does??
