Looking on BT's site, they seem to just have the Standard Edition? (also judging by the price)

They are so confused it's not even funny. All the stores we've been phoning has been "uh... eish, dunno".
Yes, that's the SE btw. I have found no mention of Deluxe versions in SA.

Which one you buying? SE and CE is cheaper locally. DDE I'm not sure.

I'm just going to buy it from BT Games (Brooklyn) today. They actually know what's going on.

SE and CE are only available from BT Games currently as a pre-purchase. There is no Digital Deluxe Edition, only off the official Anet store here: http://buy.guildwars2.com
Thanks to SA being considered EU... we get screwed with the Euro price.

I would suggest to wait and see if the online stores get their act together concerning the pre-purchase, though BT Games do have it available. I do think BT Games will be a better bet to go with as contrary to other comments I found them pretty knowledgeable with what was and what was not available. Note there are two options on their site... the Guild Wars 2 banner advert, and then if you do a search for their GW2 product.

EDIT: As of 11:47 BTGames now have pre-order and pre-purchase split. So you can choose between SE and CE for either.

Getting it from BT Games because then I don't need to wait for the delivery. The downside to this is that there is no dvd to install from, so you need to download the entire game (understandable I suppose, since there would be updates anyways).

Hmm, you have a point... Anet hasn't released enough info about the DDE/CE Elite skill and Miniature to justify R300 and R1300 is too much unfortunately

Right... so my friend phoned me from BT Games.

You pay now, then they credit your BT Games account with the money.
They send you (per email) the cd key, which you can use for the beta events.
When the game is released/shipped they debit your BT Games account (so don't use that money) and then you can go fetch the physical thing.

Yeah, BT Games had 10 CE and 250 SE copies for the whole country. From what the BT Games guy said, their CEs were sold out within a minute of them posting the link.

Can someone tell me if, if I purchase a copy of the Standard Edition, can I later upgrade to the Digital Deluxe Edition via the In Game Store?
