Hi there, a friend is a dealer with Pinnacle and they were selling it at 5199, also at 2k less then I got mine bargain. The led tv you mention has fewer connections and leds can still have lighting issues, perhaps view both before hand and decide.

I seem to remember 6 Series. Quite a step up from the 46" on offer for R5,999.

I think the Series 5 was around that price back then - unless he got a fantastic deal.

I don't think the Series 6 dipped below R20,000.00 until 2 years back

Just an update - Samsung agreed to replace my LCD with the one in the OP at a small cost to me (remember it is a few months out of warranty). It turns out the LCD in the OP is the latest version of mine, so I had a Series 5.

I dug around a bit for something else similiar in price, and asked for the 46D6000 and for a little more money this was accepted. Really outstanding performance form Samsung.

Wasn't to keen on LED - but thought I might as well give it a go as its not costing me much.
