Vodacom kinda has monopoly in the area. There's always Edge and CellC(which requires a large "investment" sum, 8ta if I'm not mistaken don't have a EDGE roaming agreement.
There's no real decent deals out there for when you just want additional cap for that particular week/month. Does MTN have any prepaid deals on atm btw?
Vodacom we are waiting "patiently" for new prepaid data deals ......please !!!

CellC extending their prepaid promotions, Vodacom's response taken longer than they anticipated.
just got back from Vodascum. Im quite friendly with one of the ladies there, and she said there is nothing in the pipeline at the moment ito data deals
one of the ladies starts arguing with me telling me that their prices are the same. So she whips out a catalog and shows me the R99 contract deal. I was like, lady? What are you smoking? Why would ANYONE sign a contract for data? Especially when you can get the same data, cheaper on PREPAID... freakin idiots!!
Vodacom, you need to WAKE THE $%@! UP!!!![]()

Really? Suggest you get 'friendly' with people who actually are in the know. There are only two ladies in the department that would know and I'm pretty sure you did not meet either of them.
Really? Which 1GB prepaid deal from what network is better priced than R99? And do you get another 1GB on top of that?
Excellent level of maturity and ability to debate you exhibit I see.![]()
I don't like data contracts at all, because of the ridiculous OOB rates, and I've just cancelled my 2GB contract with Vodacom, but there really isn't a viable option on prepaid at the moment. Sure 8ta has some good prices and Cell-C's just dropped theirs, but neither of them actually have any coverage worth a damn, so realistically I'm stuck choosing between Vodacom and MTN, and they've both got far better deals on contract than on pre-paid. MTN at least seem to have OOB rates that make sense, and I suspect I'll give them a try this time around.
With 1+1 deal R99 you might be wrong. When it was announced it was a contract only. And Contract Topup users were excluded from +1.
Or any development took place, MyBB users are not aware of?
BTW, You are asking for a proof, here it is: 8ta has R149 2+1 prepaid deal valid up to two months. Actually they are charging R146, so lets take night surfer out, it is R73 per GB and if you are planning carefully, it lasts for two months.

8ta's 2+1 is where my money goes, best deal so far, so I'll wait for Vodacom to do better ... , and I am patient ...
PS. I seldom make use of the +1 part - that is when I sleep ...
